1. LA CONCHA
La Concha Bay is framed by two of the three beaches that make up Donostia’s iconic coastline. (La Concha —  named 2018's Europe's best beach  and Ondarreta). The bay was named Concha ("shell") because of its shape.

More than a postcard — it’s a game and a piece of art to hang on your wall.

This playful illustration is inspired by San Sebastián and designed to be both interactive and decorative. Frame it, enjoy it, and see how many Basque icons you can find!

Hello! Hola! Kaixo!

If you’re here, it’s probably because you treated yourself to some delicious Douglas Sweets cookies and scanned the QR code wondering what the game was about. You’re in the right place!

Before we get to the game, let’s talk about the artwork. This colorful illustration was inspired by our beautiful hometown, San Sebastián (or Donostia in Basque). It features abstract representations of 10 iconic elements from Donostia and Basque culture — a mix of food, architecture, symbols, and landscapes that define the region.

The piece was designed not only as a playful game but also as a decorative artwork. Pop it in a frame and you’ve got a cheerful, meaningful print that brings a bit of Basque charm into your space.

Think you can spot all 10 icons? Give it a try!

(And only play the videos once you’ve given up 😉)

3. PINTXO POTE
Every Thursday (or Wednesday/Friday, depending on the neighborhood), the city comes alive with the beloved tradition of pintxo-pote: one pintxo (a small, artful bite) and one drink for just €3–3.50.

4. PEINE DEL VIENTO
El Peine del Viento (The Comb of the Wind) is a trio of sculptures by Eduardo Chillida. They are placed at the edge of the sea where the wind and waves meet the city, as if the sculptures were brushing the ocean itself.

5. MENDIZALE
Mendizale means “mountain lover” in Basque. The Basque mountains are stunning, and a deep appreciation for them is part of how we grow up. Just like some kids join soccer teams at school, we get to be part of the mendizale team: hiking, exploring, and falling in love with nature.

6. TXAPELA
The txapela is the traditional Basque beret — so iconic that the word txapeldun means both “someone who wears a txapela” and “champion.” That’s why we even use it as a trophy for winners!

7. TAMBORRADA
The Tamborrada is a drum festival celebrated on January 20th, the day of San Sebastián. It was one of the reasons Donostia became European Capital of Culture in 2016. It’s hard to explain this amazing event briefly, but you can learn more here. It’s something you really have to experience!

8. KURSAAL LIGHTS
These original lights have become one of the city’s iconic symbols, shining brightly alongside the Kursaal, which stands as one of Donostia’s most significant cultural landmarks. Together, they capture the spirit and charm of the city, making them an absolute must-see for anyone visiting.

9. ESKU PILOTA
Esku pilota (meaning hand ball) is a traditional Basque sport where players hit a hard ball against a wall called a fronton using their hand. There are several versions, some played with a wooden racket or a basket. It’s a lot of fun, we highly recommend giving it a try!

10. SEA & SURF
Like many coastal cities, Donostia’s Zurriola beach is often bustling with surfers. The Basque Country has plenty of great surf spots, with Mundaka's wave considered one of the best in the world.

Thanks for playing! :)

P.S. We hope you’re enjoying your cookies! Don’t forget — the artwork doubles as a little piece of Donostia. We recommend framing it and using it to add a unique touch to your home.
